One of the most beautiful and untouched areas in South Africa is the Elephant Coast in the province of KwaZulu Natal. It is a narrow strip of land that is about 200km long. North of the Elephant Coast one would find the Ubombo Mountains; east of it is the temperate Indian Ocean; and south of it the iMfolozi River.

The best time to visit KwaZulu Natal is definitely early autumn through winter and into spring. Summer can be very hot and humid. Game viewing is better in late June, July and August when the grass is shorter, many trees have lost their leaves, and the animals tend to gather at waterholes.
